Input Flange Placement
=======================

**PURPOSE**
    Instead of using a shape from the shapes library, a **stringer** member can be defined by referencing **plates** 
    from the plate library for web and flanges. This is similar to using the built up W1 (:ref:`Input Built-up Shape Types - W1` ) shape but you have more
    freedom to make changes in web and flange dimensions along the length of a stringer. 

    Do not use this entry with **Shape Placement** placement, but you can include **Cover Plates**
